Although often overshadowed by South Luangwa where the wildlife is considered more prolific, Kafue offers a true wilderness experience and is perfect for those who have a passion for exploring and feeling truly immersed in the wilderness. Only a few of the accommodations are open year round so if you are travelling out of season, you can almost have the park to yourself.
The park is accessible by road or by air with a number of charter companies offering flights which allows for more time exploring although it is possible to self-drive. Activities differ depending upon the lodge of choice but range from game driving, walking, boating, fishing (seasonal) and canoeing.
